Brandon Pg. 4
Goodbye
I remember getting up one morning and walking into the family room where Mike was sitting with Brandon. Brandon was lying in bed, with his arms outstretched, motioning for someone to come to him. As I got close to his bed, I heard him say, “Ryan. Ryan.” This was just 2-3 days before Brandon died.
Mike also told of a night when Brandon snuggled up beside him, calling him Ryan. From the things Brandon was saying, Mike felt “the boys were playing hide-&-seek from me (mom). Brandon kept whispering, “Come over here Ryan. We can hide here. Mom will never find us here…” There was also the time when Brandon hugged Mike and said, “I love Mom & Dad, but I love you the best, Ryan.”
The last word I heard Brandon say before he died was one simple word…Ryan. I can still picture the boys together, riding and working together, in the pool together on a hot day…trying to dunk their sister! I know Brandon missed Ryan so much. There was such comfort in knowing they were together again, and not suffering. I just wish, as always, that I could see that “new body” they both have.
